Question: My Triops have not hatched, what should I do?
Not all Triops eggs hatch at the same rate, this ensures that the eggs do not hatch all at once, and increases the chances of the species survival.  You may need to wait several days before the Triops hatch.

Question: Only a few Triops have hatched, should there be more?
The nature of the eggs is not every eggs hatches, some eggs take long than others to hatch some may be eaten by other Triops. This is part of the natural lifecycle.

Question: What type of water should i use?
Distilled or bottled water is best as it will not contain contaminates such as chlorine. Rain water is also a good source providing it is not contaminated with any substances.  We recommend bottled water for the best results.

Question: Can I put Triops in my fish tank?
No, the Triops are likely to be eaten by the fish.

Question: Can put soil, gravel, sand and plants in my Triops tank.
Yes, providing it is none salt water sand and no chemicals are present.  Gravel should be thoroughly cleaned, avoid using coloured gravels as these may contained chemicals.  We recommend using the sand and gravels contained in our sets only.  Plants may be added to the tank for decoration but please avoid over population.  Triops love to dig in loose soils so root masses may disturb them.

Question: Do Triops need to be kept warm?
In the early stages of growth warmer temperatures can encourage the Triops to hatch. However, Triops should not be allowed to get too hot or too cold.  A sunny windowsill usually provides enough heat and sunlight to encourage growth.

Question: Will my Triops lay eggs?
Some Triops may lay eggs. These can then be collected, dried and used to grow future Triop generations.

Question: One of my Triops is missing, where has it gone.
If you cannot see your Triops body in the tank, it may have been eaten by another Triop. This is a sign that your Triops are hungry and you should increase the amount of food you are given them.

Question: There are lots of dead Triops in my tank, what has gone wrong?
Triops shed their skins, you are most likely seeing the remains of the skins. The Triops will shed their skins frequently as they grow.
